Over 60k people have registered for 2026 BSKE, BARMM polls - Comelec
The number of Filipinos who registered to vote for the 2026 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections (BSKE) and the first-ever parliamentary elections in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) has soared to over 60,000, according to the latest data from the Commission on Elections (Comelec).
As of March 11, a total of 63,360 individuals have registered to vote for the 2026 BSKE and Bangsamoro parliamentary elections, composed of 31,192 females and 31,552 males.
Lanao del Sur recorded the highest number of registrants with 15,936. It was followed by Maguindanao del Norte with 13,585; Maguindanao del Sur with 9,636; and Basilan with 9,494.
Tawi-Tawi recorded 7,686 registrants, including 616 who signed up at the Register Anywhere Program (RAP) sites in the province.
Meanwhile, the Special Geographic Area (SGA) in Cotabato reported the lowest number of registrants with 7,023.
The Comelec resumed the voters' registration in the autonomous region on February 9. The registration period was originally scheduled to finish on March 30, but it was later extended to March 31. — VBL, GMA Integrated News
