VP Sara says OVP ready to assist Filipinos amid Middle East conflict

Vice President Sara Duterte on Monday said the Office of the Vice President is ready to help Filipinos amid the Middle East conflict and the massive increases in the prices of fuel and other goods.

Duterte said she sympathized with OFWs dealing with the impact of the ongoing tensions in the region.

“Kung ano man iyong matulong ng Office of the Vice President, ay gagawin namin. Ipaalam lang sa amin kung paano kami makakatulong," Sara Duterte said in Digos City.

“Nakikiisa tayo sa pinagdadaanan ng karamihan nating mga kababayan na Overseas Filipino Workers dahil sa kaguluhan — dahil sa giyera doon sa Middle East,” she added.

(We stand in solidarity with what many of our fellow Filipinos who are overseas Filipino workers are going through because of the unrest and war in the Middle East.)

Duterte said the country may be facing economic challenges, but said recovery remains possible.

“It will be a difficult road back to prosperity, pero it is not impossible,” Duterte said. 

Duterte was in Digos City to attend the unveiling of a statue honoring a former barangay captain, where she also met with local officials and residents. –NB, GMA Integrated News
