Over 3.1M registered to vote for 2026 BSKE — COMELEC
The number of Filipinos registered to vote for the 2026 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections (BSKE) has surpassed 3.1 million nationwide, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) reported.
As of March 14, a total of 3,137,948 individuals had registered, with 1,633,469 female and 1,504,479 male registrants.
By region, Calabarzon (Region IV-A) recorded the highest number of applicants at 537,847, followed by Central Luzon (Region III) with 360,564, the National Capital Region (NCR) with 322,054, and the Bicol Region (Region V) with 187,598.
Meanwhile, 6,518 registrants applied through the Special Register Anywhere Program (SRAP) at the Comelec main office in Intramuros, Manila.
Voter registration for the 2026 BSKE resumed on October 20, 2025, and will continue until May 18, 2026. Applicants may register Monday to Sunday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., at any satellite registration site or their respective Comelec office of the election officer (OEO).
The Comelec said the registration period covers:
- New registration
- Transfer of records
- Change of name or status
- Correction of entries
- Reactivation of registration records
- Inclusion of registration records
- Reinstatement of names in the list of voters
The poll body earlier said it aims to register 1.4 million new voters for the 2026 BSKE during the months-long nationwide registration.
In August, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. signed into law a measure postponing the BSKE from December 1, 2025, to the first Monday of November 2026, and scheduling the elections every four years thereafter.—MCG, GMA Integrated News
