Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Atty. Claire Castro on Tuesday dismissed as fake news the rumors that the airplane carrying First Lady Louise ''Lizá'' Araneta-Marcos supposedly experienced issues with its landing gear.

''Aray, nakuryente ako. Kuryente lang po iyon, hindi po iyon totoo,'' Castro briefly responded when asked about rumors that the plane, carrying the First Lady on Monday, encountered mechanical problems.

(Ouch, I was electrocuted. That's fake news. It is not true.)

No further details were provided by the Palace official.

Recently, the First Lady was in Cebu province as she inspected the Mactan Expo Center, which will be used in the Philippines' hosting of the ASEAN Summit and Related Summits in May.
