Navotas Representative Tobias Tiangco said that he is one million percent sure that Vice President Sara Duterte will hold the perpetrators of the flood control mess accountable if she is elected President in 2028.

Tiangco made the assertion by citing that there are House members who are pushing for the impeachment of the Vice President, not based on principle, but because they are afraid of being held accountable over the flood control mess if the Vice President wins in the 2028 presidential elections.

“Honestly, tingin nila maaareglo nila iyong iba eh.

Tiangco, however, said he is not passing judgment on any other individual who can also win the presidency.

Alam ko ‘yun at alam nila ‘yun,” he said.

Ombudsman prosecutors have filed three batches of cases since the investigation was launched in September 2024, which include:

  • malversation and graft charges against resigned Ako Bicol Party-list Rep. Zaldy Co and at least 15 others over the P289 million alleged substandard road dike project in Oriental Mindoro
  • malversation and graft charges against contractor Sarah Discaya and several others over the P96.5 million alleged ghost flood control project in Davao Occidental
  • malversation and graft charges against contractor against former Senator Ramon Bong Revilla, Jr., ex-Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Bulacan Assistant District Engineer Brice Hernandez and five others over the alleged P92.8-million ghost flood control project in Pandi, Bulacan
