Number coding scheme suspended on March 20, 2026 for Eid’l Fitr —MMDA
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Wednesday announced the suspension of the expanded number coding scheme on Friday, March 20, 2026, a regular holiday in observance of Eid’l Fitr.
In an advisory, the MMDA said the number coding scheme is automatically suspended during official and special non-working holidays.
Motorists are advised to plan their trips ahead, especially with the expected increase in travel activity during the long weekend.
Drivers are also urged to observe road safety measures at all times to avoid accidents and inconvenience.
On Monday, Malacañang published the official issuance that proclaimed March 20, 2026 as a regular holiday throughout the Philippines in observance of Eid’l Fitr to mark the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
The Bangsamoro Darul Ifta earlier announced that the official moon sighting for Eid al-Fitr will take place on March 19.
"This significant event will be led by the Bangsamoro Mufti, Sheikh Abdulrauf A. Guialani, who will make the formal pronouncement determining the conclusion of the holy month of Ramadhan," Bangsamoro Darul Ifta said in its Facebook post. —AOL, GMA Integrated News
