Rodrigo Duterte’s Davao ancestral house closed to public
The ancestral house of former president Rodrigo Duterte in Davao City has been closed to the public, according to a GMA Super Radyo Davao report.
According to the report, the caretaker of the house said Elizabeth Zimmerman, the former wife of Rodrigo Duterte and mother of Vice President Sara Duterte, ordered to temporarily restrict public access to the property.
Visitors, however, may still take photos with the standee of the former president displayed at the house gate.
GMA News Online reached out to the camp of the Duterte family and will update this story once they respond.
In December 2025, Sara Duterte conducted her family’s Christmas gift-giving activity at their ancestral home.
The Vice President said the family tradition would continue despite the situation of her father, who is currently detained in The Hague, Netherlands, on charges of crimes against humanity.
From February 23 to 27, 2026, a chamber of the International Criminal Court (ICC) held Rodrigo Duterte’s confirmation of charges hearing.
The court will then decide whether to confirm the charges and commit him to trial, stop the proceedings, or direct further investigation. —Giselle Ombay/LDF, GMA Integrated News
