PH peace adviser highlights value of kindness as Ramadan ends
The Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation, and Unity emphasized the role of shared humanity and kindness amid worldwide conflict.
In his message for the culmination of Ramadan on Friday, Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. said that the month-long celebration reminded the public of patience, humility, compassion, generosity toward others, and devotion.
“Filipinos may come from diverse cultures, backgrounds, and beliefs, but we are all bound by the common ideals of peace, kindness, and solidarity,” he said.
He noted that through fasting for Ramadan, Muslims were able to better understand the victims of hunger, discrimination, and conflict.
It also highlighted the spirit of helping the less fortunate and serving the common good.
“As you celebrate Eid’l Fitr, may the spirit of Ramadan inspire peace, understanding, and unity in the hearts of all the faithful. Let us remember that every act of kindness and generosity helps build a world where lasting peace and progress can take root and flourish,” he added.
The end of Ramadan or Eid'l Fitr will take place on March 21 after the crescent moon has not been sighted during the moonsighting led by Bangsamoro Darul-Ifta (BDI) on Thursday evening.
The celebration completes a total of 30 days of Ramadan that began on February 19. —Jiselle Anne C. Casucian/LDF, GMA Integrated News
