Muslims in the Philippines gathered early on Saturday in parks and mosques to observe Eid'l Fitr, the end of the fasting month of Ramadan.

At Quirino Grandstand in Rizal Park in Manila, thousands of Muslims laid down their prayer mats and participated in early morning prayers, according to a report by Mao dela Cruz on Dobol B TV.

Men were in front, while women and children were behind them.

Police and marshals were positioned around Quirino Grandstand to ensure peace and order during the activity.

Meanwhile, at Quezon Memorial Circle in Quezon City, thousands of Muslims also arrived early to join the 7 a.m. morning prayers, according to a report by Christian Maño on Dobol B TV.

After prayers were conducted, Muslim families enjoyed a picnic together.

There was also a halal food bazaar at Quezon Memorial Circle.

Children, meanwhile, enjoyed the balloons, ice cream, and cotton candy being sold.

Members of the Quezon City Police District and the Quezon City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office were at the site to ensure a peaceful celebration.

In their prayers on Eid'l Fitr, Muslims expressed thanksgiving to Allah for the end of the Ramadan, which started on February 19.

Eid’l Fitr is celebrated by the Muslim world for three days after the end of Ramadan, Islam’s holy month, which calls for spiritual reflection through praying, fasting, and abstaining from sinful behavior.

National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) Secretary Sabuddin Abdurahim, in a statement, said: "Ramadan reminds us that faith is strengthened through patience, compassion, and sincere devotion. Through fasting, prayer, and acts of charity, we renew our commitment to righteousness and strengthen the bonds that unite our families and communities."

"As taught by our honored Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), those who fast during Ramadan with faith and sincere intention are promised forgiveness and spiritual renewal. May this divine promise inspire is to purify our hearts, uplift one another, and continue walking together in mercy, unity, and peace," he added.

President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. meanwhile on Saturday urged Filipinos to practice the values of compassion, humility, and solidarity beyond the season of Ramadan and Eid'l Fitr "to build a Bagong Pilipinas."

"May the Eid bring comfort to those who carry heavy burdens, renewed strength to those who serve, and joy to every Filipino home. May it deepen understanding across faiths and cultures and continue to unite us in our shared aspiration to build a Bagong Pilipinas where dignity is upheld, opportunity reaches every Filipino, and peace flourishes through justice and mutual respect. Eid Mubarak," Marcos said.
