Public warned vs scammers posing as DPWH execs
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) on Sunday warned the public against scammers who message unsuspecting victims and claim to be DPWH officials.
In a public advisory posted on its Facebook page, the DPWH cautioned the public against falling for messages from con artists who use the name of DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon or other officials of the agency.
The scammers allegedly pose as DPWH executives to dupe unsuspecting victims of their money, or to solicit information or favors.
The public advisory was accompanied by screenshots of messages from alleged con artists.
The DPWH reminded the public to be on alert and cautious of such messages, and to report fake and suspicious transactions through email at citizens_feedback@dpwh.gov.ph or its Facebook account.
Reports may be also submitted through the DPWH hotline at 165-02 or its Viber number at 09616847084. — JMA, GMA Integrated News
