Vlogger Jack Argota files counter-affidavit on raps over fake Marcos med cert
Vlogger Jack Argota on Tuesday personally filed his counter-affidavit with the Department of Justice (DOJ) over the complaint against him for allegedly spreading false medical information concerning President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
“Nagpasa ako ng counter (I filed my counter-affidavit),” he said in an ambush interview.
He declined to give further details, saying this might lead to more complaints.
“Wala akong inaaamin. Nakasulat naman doon. Basta lahat nandoon na. Ayaw ko na lumala, baka magkakaso pa ‘ko,” he said.
(I am not admitting anything. Everything is in the counter-affidavit. I don’t want to make things worse, because more complaints may be filed against me.)
In February, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) filed a complaint against Argota for cyber libel under Section 4(c)(4) of the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012, in relation to Article 353 of the Revised Penal Code as well as unlawful publication under Article 154 of the Revised Penal Code.
Argota urged his supporters to continue trusting him.
“Syempre, mag tiwala lang kayo sakin (Of course, keep trusting me),” he said.
When asked if he has a message for Malacañang, Argota said, “Sana mahalin na lang nila ‘yung Pilipino (I hope they just love the Filipino).”
The NBI previously said Argota admitted to posting the alleged medical records for engagement purposes and “to keep up with the trend.”
In January, a document about the President’s supposed health information circulated on social media, which Malacañang described as “fabricated and malicious.”
The issue followed Marcos’ earlier medical consultation at St. Luke’s Medical Center due to diverticulitis, an inflammation of pouches in the wall of the large intestine. — JMA, GMA Integrated News
