DSWD: Jeepney drivers to get P5k cash aid on March 25

Public utility jeepney (PUJ) drivers in Metro Manila are next to receive the P5,000 cash relief from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) to help them cope with rising prices of fuel products amid the Middle East crisis.

The payout for jeepney drivers will be on Wednesday, March 25, the DSWD and the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) said in separate announcements on their Facebook pages on Tuesday.

The payout for more than 21,700 jeepney drivers under the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis (AICS) program will begin at 7 a.m. at 16 payout sites in Metro Manila.

The payout sites are:

  • Caloocan City: North: Pacquiao Court Sports Complex, 7 a.m. onwards
  • Las Piñas City: Aguilar Sports Complex, Pilar Villages, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Makati City: Makati City Hall Quadrangle, 7 a.m. onwards
  • Malabon City: Malabon Sports Complex (Oval), Barangay Hulong Duhat, 7 a.m. onwards
  • Mandaluyong City: Atrium Mandaluyong Executive Building, 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Manila: Kartilya ng Katipunan, 7 a.m. onwards
  • Muntinlupa City: Muntinlupa Sports Center, Tunasan, 7 a.m. onwards
  • Navotas City: Phase 1B Multipurpose Building, third floor, 7 a.m. onwards
  • Parañaque City: San Dionisio Sports Complex near fire station, 7 a.m. onwards
  • Pasay City: Pasay City Sports Complex, 7 a.m. onwards
  • Pasig City: Kapitolyo Amphitheatre, 7 a.m. onwards
  • Pateros: Pateros Municipal Hall, DRRM Conference Hall, third floor, 7 a.m. onwards
  • Quezon City: Quezon Memorial Circle near Commonwealth Gate, 7 a.m. onwards
  • San Juan City: Atrium, 7 a.m. onwards
  • Taguig City: Mercado de Lago, 06 Lower Bicutan, 7 a.m. onwards
  • Valenzuela City: Alert MPH, 7 a.m. onwards

Jeepney drivers may check if their names are included in the list of beneficiaries and their assigned payout center at this link.

The list of beneficiaries was validated by the LTFRB based on the data submitted by local government units (LGUs) and operators.

Jeepney drivers only need to bring their professional driver’s license and a photocopy.

They may also check the DSWD and the LTFRB’s Facebook pages for updates about the next payout schedules and payout sites. — JMA, GMA Integrated News
