(As of today, March 27, 2026, the total number of closed gas stations has reached 425. Yesterday, it dropped to 387, but it increased today by 38.)
A total of 14,485 gas stations nationwide are under the monitoring of the PNP.
Tuaño said six cases have been filed for hoarding, overpricing, trademark violation, and unfair competition.
These incidents were reported in Arteche and Llorente, Eastern Samar; Guinobatan, Albay; Placer, Masbate; Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur; and Guimba, Nueva Ecija.
Police presence has increased in fuel stations, supply depots, and other critical infrastructure to deter illegal activities and ensure continued access to essential services, the PNP earlier said.
Authorities are coordinating with the Department of Energy (DOE) and local price monitoring bodies to track fuel supply and pricing.
The PNP urged the public to continue normal activities, practice responsible fuel use, and rely on official channels for updates. —VAL, GMA Integrated News
