Marcos says CAVITEX-C5 segment 3B toll free this April
President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Monday announced that the new CAVITEX-C5 segment would be toll free for travelers for the month of April.
“Ito, toll free ito buong Abril. Mula ngayon hanggang end of April, toll free para naman mapagbigyan ang ating mga kababayan na dumadaan dito,” Marcos told reporters.
(This will be toll free for the entire month of April so we can accommodate those who will pass through this.)
Marcos said this as he graced the opening of the CAVITEX-C5 Expressway Segment 3B this morning.
The president said the opening of the segment is crucial in addressing the effects of oil price shocks, which are driven by ongoing tensions in the Middle East.
Marcos said this would also support the government’s Unified Package for Livelihoods, Industry, Food, and Transport (UPLIFT) under his Executive Order No. 110.
He said travel time from Taguig City to Parañaque City would be lessened from one and a half hour to 15 minutes.
The Segment 3B is also expected to enhance access for motorists from the south, such as Cavite, to metropolitan areas, thereby boosting economic development in Southern Metro Manila and Cavite province. —KG, GMA Integrated News
