MMDA allows provincial buses on EDSA for Holy Week 2026 exodus

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will temporarily allow provincial buses to use EDSA during the Holy Week period to accommodate the surge of passengers traveling to the provinces.

In an advisory, the MMDA said the measure will take effect starting 9 p.m. on Holy Wednesday, April 1, until 6 a.m. on April 6, Monday.

The move aims to ensure faster turnaround time for buses and provide continuous trips for commuters heading out of Metro Manila for the long holiday.

Provincial buses coming from North Luzon will be allowed to travel along EDSA but only up to terminals in Cubao, Quezon City.

Meanwhile, those from South Luzon will be allowed to traverse EDSA up to terminals in Pasay and the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX).

The MMDA said the move aims to ease congestion and improve mobility amid the anticipated influx of travelers during Holy Week. —AOL, GMA Integrated News
