NTC targets uninterrupted communications for Holy Week 2026
The National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) has mobilized nationwide public assistance operations as it targets reliable and uninterrupted communications during Holy Week.
In a press release on Monday, the NTC said it tasked all regional offices to coordinate closely with the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), civic action groups, amateur radio groups, and local government units (LGUs) including their Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices (LDRRMOs), to strengthen on-the-ground communication support and emergency response.
Further, the NTC will also facilitate the swift issuance of temporary permits and licenses to guarantee the seamless operation of communication support teams, especially this week that millions of Filipinos are expected to travel across the country.
Telecommunication companies and broadcast entities, on the other hand, are urged to actively assist in the timely and accurate dissemination of public advisories. — Anna Felicia Bajo/BM, GMA Integrated News
