Marcos at opening of CLLEX Aliaga-Cabanatuan segment

President Ferdinand ''Bongbong'' Marcos Jr. on Tuesday announced that the Aliaga-Cabanatuan segment of the Central Luzon Expressway would be toll free until December.

Marcos made the remark as he graced the opening of CLLEX Contract Package 4 Aliaga-Cabanatuan Section in Nueva Ecija. The President said this project is part of the measures to ease travel time and reduce traffic in most parts of the country.

(This road will be toll free until December. It will be free for now. Various trucks will be able to use it so we can manage the traffic on MacArthur [Highway] so travel time will be faster.)

Kaya ‘yan ang malaking epekto dito,'' he added.

(When travel is made faster, the cost of fuel will be lower and the prices of goods being delivered by the trucks will not have to be increased. So that is the big effect here.

The construction of the 29.2-kilometer four-lane expressway seeks to improve access between Tarlac City and Cabanatuan City. This will also decongest traffic along Daang Maharlika.

Its total project cost was P14.94 billion. —KG, GMA News
