DOJ: Resolutions on plunder complaints vs Estrada, Revilla out by mid-April

The Department of Justice (DOJ) will be releasing the resolutions on the plunder complaints against Senator Jinggoy Estrada and former Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla by mid-April.

The plunder complaint against Estrada and his co-respondents were submitted for resolution on March 12, while the complaint against Estrada was submitted for resolution on March 30.

“Conferring with the Prosecutor General earlier, he has advised that we will be releasing the resolutions for these cases, of course under the leadership of Secretary Vida, mid-April,” said DOJ spokesperson Polo Martinez.

Estrada is facing allegations of being the proponent of P355 million worth of flood control projects and allegedly receiving kickbacks from millions worth of projects included in the National Expenditure Program (NEP) for 2024.

Meanwhile, Martinez previously said Revilla’s plunder complaint covers multiple alleged anomalous flood control projects in Bulacan.

The DOJ official said plunder complaints cover a combination of series of overt acts where the acquisition of ill-gotten wealth amounted to at least P50 million.

Both Estrada and Revilla have denied the allegations against them. — JMA, GMA News
