PNP: P11B in illegal drugs seized, 16k drug suspects nabbed in Q1 2026

The Philippine National Police (PNP) has arrested over 16,000 drug suspects and recovered more than P11 billion in illegal drugs in the first quarter of 2026.

In a statement on Wednesday, the PNP said it has conducted 14,550 anti-narcotics operations from January 1 to March 30 this year and arrested 16,784 individuals.

The police force has also seized 619.82 kilos of shabu, 2,800 kilos of dried marijuana leaves, 619,820 marijuana plants, 1.816 kilos of cocaine, 166 kilos of ecstasy, and over 4,000 kilos of kush or high-grade marijuana.

These recovered narcotics are worth more than P11 billion, the PNP said.

“Ang resulta ng ating kampanya ay malinaw na patunay na tuloy-tuloy at epektibo ang ating laban kontra iligal na droga. Pero hindi pa rito nagtatapos ang laban,” said PNP chief Police General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr.

“We will continue our bloodless campaign, focusing on operations that protect communities while respecting human rights,” he added.

The PNP also urged Filipinos to be vigilant, report illegal activities, and help keep neighborhoods safe and free of illegal drugs. — JMA, GMA News
