Light traffic observed along NLEX, SLEX on Good Friday

Motorists experienced light traffic flow along major expressways on Good Friday morning, according to traffic updates from tollway operators.

As of 7 a.m., the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) reported light traffic at Balintawak, Mindanao, and Bocaue toll plazas, as well as the San Fernando northbound and southbound sections.

Traffic remained light in all other parts of the NLEX–SCTEX corridor and the NLEX Connector, including toll plazas and interchanges.

However, at 7:34 a.m., NLEX management reported a road crash northbound around Capaya, Angeles, which occupied the leftmost lane and caused about a 500-meter traffic buildup.

Meanwhile, the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) also recorded light traffic situations from Alabang to Sto. Tomas in both directions.

Other major routes connected to SLEX showed similar traffic conditions.

The NAIA Expressway (NAIAx) reported light traffic in all toll plazas and on- and off-ramps.

The Skyway, both at-grade and elevated sections from Magallanes/Makati to Alabang, also remained lightly congested.

Skyway Stage 3, from Buendia to Balintawak, likewise reported light traffic in both northbound and southbound lanes.

The smooth flow of vehicles along these expressways comes as many travelers had already left Metro Manila earlier in the week for the Holy Week break. —VAL, GMA News
