PNP-ACG: 332 nabbed for cybercrimes in first quarter of 2026

The Philippine National Police’s Anti-Cybercrime Group (PNP-ACG) has arrested 332 individuals for various cybercrime offenders in the first quarter of 2026.

In a statement over the weekend, the PNP-ACG noted that of the 332 arrested individuals, 205 were nabbed in entrapment operations while 119 were wanted persons.

Eight were arrested during the execution of warrants to search, seize, and examine computer data (WSSECD).

“The PNP ACG is steadfast in its mission to fortify cyber intelligence, sharpen investigative and forensic capabilities, intensify cyber patrols, and expand public awareness programs to effectively address emerging cyber threats,” said PNP-ACG acting chief Brigadier General Wilson Asueta.

The PNP-ACG also implemented 337 cyber warrants from January 1 to March 31 of this year for the disclosure, examination, or seizure of computer data.

It referred 593 cases, of which 424 were done through regular filing and 169 were filed through inquest proceedings.

The PNP-ACG also reported its conduct of 7,129 cyber patrols and 226 digital forensic examinations.

The police unit also rescued 74 victims from abuse and helped secure the conviction of 143 individuals for cybercrimes. — JMA, GMA News
