OVP adjusts work schedule amid fuel price hike

The Office of the Vice President (OVP) has adopted flexible work arrangements in accordance with a directive from Malacañang for all government agencies to strictly adopt energy conservation measures amid the tensions in the Middle East.

In an advisory issued Monday, the OVP said that it would implement a four-day onsite work and one-day work-from-home (WFH) arrangement.

The OVP would be open to the public from Monday to Thursday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

On Fridays, OVP personnel would be on a WFH setup. Only the Central Records Unit would remain open to receive documents.

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. earlier announced that starting March 9, 2026, a four-day work week would temporarily be implemented in offices under the Executive branch.

Malacañang also released Memorandum Circular No. 114 which underscored the need to adopt strict energy conservation measures to further reduce the energy footprint of government operations and optimize the use of public resources. — Giselle Ombay/RSJ, GMA News
