Malacañang on Wednesday said it is preparing to file complaints against individuals spreading false information about the health of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

Presidential Communications Office Acting Secretary Dave Gomez said evidence is currently being gathered, adding that a complaint may be filed next week.

“Yung nagpapakalat on the health of PBBM, we’re already collecting all pieces of evidence and will initiate a complaint with the DOJ hopefully next week,” Gomez told Palace reporters.

Gomez did not elaborate, but his statement came amid viral social media posts in recent days falsely claiming that the President has been diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer.

Malacañang has maintained that the President is in good health amid circulating rumors about his condition.

Marcos was brought to St. Luke’s Medical Center in Quezon City last January 21 after experiencing discomfort, which doctors diagnosed as diverticulitis.

The President later acknowledged that he lost some weight but assured the public that he is recovering and doing well.—MCG, GMA News
