Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla said Thursday Ramil Madriaga, who introduced himself as Vice President Sara Duterte’s alleged bagman, had already named some contracted hitmen.

“It was an option from the very start. In fact, may mga na-name na siya na contracted hitman. I think it will come out in the future testimonies, lalabas pa,” Remulla said during Unang Hirit's On Record interview.

In his supplemental affidavit read during the House justice panel's impeachment hearing against the Vice President, Madriaga accused former President Rodrigo Duterte of allegedly plotting an assassination—or, if not, a coup—against President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. should he fail to step down by 2025.

The camp of the Vice President already rejected Madriaga's allegations, calling his statements “pure fiction” and lacking evidence.

Malacañang on Wednesday said it is up to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to look into the revelation of Madriaga

Remulla said there is always a threat to Marcos.

“There is always a credible threat against the President. It will never disappear, whether it comes from that camp or any other camp. The President is the most protected person in the Philippines, precisely because of the nature of his job,” he added.

Meanwhile, the  DILG chief downplayed the remarks made by Davao City Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte, son of the former president and brother of the Vice President, against Marcos.

“I don't think so. Well, some are offended. Pero sup*t naman talaga. Puro dakdak, dakdak nang dakdak,” Remulla said.

“If you want to lead the country, you have to be more statesmanlike. You have to talk about what's the future of the country. Pero kung gano'n ang salita mo, tapos puro hirit ka lang, eh kumbaga noong college tayo, tawag mo doon sup*t talaga,” he added.

During the launch of the Reform Alliance for Good Governance and Accountability (RAGE) Coalition on Sunday, Baste criticized and accused the Marcos administration of corruption.

“Isang ulo lang naman ang kailangan namin. Ang ulo ni Bongbong Marcos,” Baste said.—AOL, GMA News
