The Department of Justice (DOJ) has issued a resolution recommending that former Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo and others be charged with simulation of minimum capital stock under the Anti-Dummy Law, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) said Friday.

According to the NBI, the DOJ issued a resolution granting the motion for reconsideration filed by the bureau.

The NBI said it previously filed a complaint against Guo and others for falsification of documents and violations of the Anti-Dummy Law in connection with the operations of a company in Pangasinan.

The NBI alleged that several incorporators misrepresented their identities and nationalities to circumvent a statutory restriction on foreign land ownership.

However, DOJ prosecutors initially dismissed the complaint alleging violations of the Anti-Dummy Law.

This prompted the NBI to file its motion for reconsideration.

“These concerted efforts culminated in the appropriate and solid charges being filed against Guo and her associates, ensuring accountability,” the NBI said in a statement. —LDF, GMA News
