Marcos declares special non-working days in Batangas, Palawan, Tarlac towns
President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. has declared special non-working days in several towns in Batangas, Palawan, and Tarlac to celebrate local festivals in these provinces.
Under Proclamation 1215, Marcos declared May 2, Saturday, a special non-working day in the Municipality of Bauan in Batangas for the celebration of the Sublian Festival.
This local festival is known for its cultural and religious significance, honoring the Holy Cross and Sto. Niño through traditional dance and rituals.
Marcos also issued Proclamation 1216 declaring May 4, Monday, a special non-working day in the Municipality of Taytay in Palawan for the Pasinggatan Festival to honor the town's rich history and heritage.
The President likewise issued Proclamation 1217, declaring May 8, Friday, a special non-working day in Camiling, Tarlac. This is in observance of the annual town fiesta, which is marked by religious activities and community festivities.
The three proclamations were signed on April 16, 2026 by Executive Secretary Ralph Recto, by the authority of the President. — VDV, GMA News
