Marcos: Nearly 80,000 teachers, school heads promoted since Aug. 2025
Nearly 80,000 teachers and school heads have been promoted under the government’s Expanded Career Progression (ECP) System since August 2025, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. said on Monday.
Marcos made the remark during the mass oathtaking of newly promoted teachers and school heads in Western Visayas, held in Roxas City, Capiz.
“Simula noong Agosto 2025 hanggang ngayon, halos walumpung libong teacher—79,230 teachers at school heads sa buong bansa—ay na-promote na sa ilalim nitong ECP System,” Marcos said.
(Since August 2025 up to the present, nearly 80,000 teachers and school heads nationwide have been promoted under the ECP system.)
Under the ECP, teachers now have two career tracks: classroom teaching and school administration.
The program also created new positions, including Teacher IV to VII, Master Teacher V to VI, and School Principal V, “so that our teachers can advance their careers with clearer direction,” Marcos said.
Aside from promotions, the government has rolled out measures to improve teachers’ welfare, including the creation and filling of thousands of new teaching posts and the establishment of non-teaching positions to ease administrative workloads.
It also released the full P10,000 teaching supply allowance for School Year 2025–2026.—MCG, GMA News
