UP Diliman grad tops April 2026 registered electrical engineers licensure exam
A graduate of the University of the Philippines-Diliman achieved the highest score in the registered electrical engineers licensure examination held earlier this month.
According to the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), 3,769 out of 6,556 passed the exam, given by the Board of Electrical Engineering in Metro Manila, Baguio, Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao,Iloilo, Koronadal, Legazpi, Lucena, Pagadian, Pampanga, Rosales, Tacloban,Tuguegarao and Zamboanga.
John Veluz Labrador of UP Diliman was the top scorer with a result of 94.25%. The best-performing school with 30 or more examinees is UP Los Baños with 53 of its 54 test takers passing, while the best-performing school with 20 to 29 examinees is the Technological University of the Philippines-Manila, with 20 of its 21 test takers passing.

In addition, 493 out of 882 passed the registered master electricians licensure exam, also given by the Board of Electrical Engineering in the same areas.
Adrian Buenaobra Baconawa of Southern Luzon State University-Lucban was the highest scorer with a result of 89.00%.
The PRC also announced that 75 passed the technical evaluation for upgrading as professional electrical engineers, given by the Board of Electrical Engineering in Doha, Qatar; Dubai, UAE; and Metro Manila.
