Marcos unveils PhilHealth's expanded maternity benefits starting April 30th
President Ferdinand ''Bongbong'' Marcos Jr. on Wednesday announced PhilHealth's expanded maternity benefits beginning April 30 of this year.
''Simula April 30, mas pinalawak at mas mataas na ang maternity benefit ng PhilHealth,'' Marcos said in a video message.
(Beginning April 30, we will implement PhilHealth's expanded maternity benefit.)
Marcos said there would be bigger coverage for normal and cesarean deliveries as well as more prenatal check-ups and improved postnatal care.
Marcos said coverage for normal deliveries would increase from P9,750 to P29,000 while coverage for cesarian deliveries will also go up from P37,000 to 58,000 to P62,000.
''Pinalawak din ang prenatal care mula apat na check-up, magiging walo na ang sasagutin ng PhilHealth, kasama na ang mga bakuna at saka laboratory tests,'' Marcos said.
(We also expand the prenatal care from four check-ups to eight, these will be covered by PhilHealth, including vaccines and laboratory tests.)
''At pagkatapos naman manganak, may tatlong follow-up visit na sakop na rin,'' she added.
(After giving birth, three follow-up visits will also be covered by PhilHealth.) —VAL, GMA News
