Senator Imee Marcos and President Bongbong Marcos

President Ferdinand ''Bongbong'' Marcos Jr. said he hasn't spoken to his sister, Senator Imee Marcos, for almost three years, noting that the latter has not been attending family gatherings.

This came after Imee described her relationship with her brother as "non-existent."

According to Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Atty. Claire Castro, she asked the President for reaction to his sister's remarks after the UPLIFT meeting on Tuesday morning.

Castro said that based on the President's body language, Marcos is disappointed with his sister's remarks.

GMA News Online asked Imee for comment but she has yet to reply as of posting time.

In November of last year, Imee accused her brother of using drugs, an allegation that Malacañang called "desperate."

She also alleged that First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos and some of the President's friends were using illegal drugs.

The senator added that Marcos’ children, including Ilocos Norte 1st District Representative Sandro Marcos, were also drug users, and that they also asked her and other members of the family to use illegal drugs. Sandro denied the allegations, saying there is no basis and no truth to them.

In response to this, Marcos said, ''That lady that you see talking on TV is not my sister.” —with a report from Giselle Ombay/KG, GMA News
