The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) has suspended the disconnection of residential and non-residential consumers who will fail to pay their electric bills from May 2026 to July 2026 while allowing up to three-month installment payments.

According to a “24 Oras” report on Tuesday, ERC said flexible payment options or installment payment will also be allowed for consumption that do not exceed 200 kilowatts per hour per month.

A three-month installment will be allowed.

ERC also said payment for distribution utilities for up to three months will be shared among energy power generators to ease the burden of high electricity bills caused by the Middle East conflict. —Mariel Celine Serquiña/RF, GMA News
