Prince Abdul Mateen of Brunei arrives for the ASEAN Summit 2026 welcome ceremony

The recently concluded 48th ASEAN Summit held in Cebu was attended by leaders of ASEAN member countries.

But one of the guests, Prince Abdul Mateen, son of Brunei's Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, was a head-turner for his good looks.

The polo-playing prince accompanied his father, Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, to the summit events.

It was not the first time Prince Abdul met the Marcoses.

In January 2024, President Marcos and First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos attended the wedding celebration of Prince Abdul and commoner Yang Mulia Anisha Rosnah at the Istana Nurul Iman royal palace in Bandar Seri Begawan.

Prince Abdul, the 10th child of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, also posted photos on his Facebook page showing some more moments from the ASEAN Summit.

Prince Abdul became a father last February when Princess Anisha Rosnah gave birth to their daughter, Princess Zahra.

In 2019, Prince Abdul also turned heads as a 'hothlete' member of the Sultanate's polo team that joined the 30th Southeast Asian Games held in the Philippines.

He admitted being flattered that some Filipinos apparently traveled all the way to Calatagan, Batangas to watch their team play.

"They just wanted some pictures and I'm flattered," he said. —KG, GMA News
