Supporters of impeachment complaint vs Sara Duterte attend Mass

Individuals supporting the impeachment complaint against Vice President Sara Duterte attended a mass at the People's Center at the House of Representatives Monday, hours before the report of House committee on justice is sponsored and presented to the plenary for voting.

"Ang misang ito ay papasalamat. For a long time, tinatago-tago ‘yung katotohanan. At least sa deliberation ng Justice Committee, lumabas 'yung facts and figures about the complaints, mga ebidensya laban kay VP Sara," Fr Joselito Sarabia, one of the impeachment complainants, said in an ambush interview before the Mass.

"So we pray talaga. Sabi namin sa simula, this is a moral, moral effort namin. Hindi lang legal. Pero sana manumbalik 'yung tiwala ng mga tao sa public official natin. Mawala 'yung fake news, 'yung katiwalian at accountability ng public officials manumbalik," Sarabia added.

He expressed hope the legislators will base their decision, whether to impeach the Vice President or not, on the evidence.

"We pray na after this ma-impeach talaga at sana yung mga kongresista, makita yung ebidensya at mag-decide to impeach VP Sara para madala na ito sa Senado," Sarabia said.

He also hopes that the senators who will sit as senator-judges will also base their decisions on facts and not politics.

"We want the senators to decide sa facts, hindi party lines, sa politika or personal ambition. So yun, gamitin nila ang konsensiya nila and I hope God will enlighten them," Sarabia said.

Seen attending the mass were Akbayan Party-list Reps Chel Diokno and Perci Cendaña, Act Teachers Party-list Rep Antonio Tinio, and Tingog Party-list Rep Jude Acidre. —AOL, GMA News
