Hontiveros 'seriously' considering higher post in 2028 polls

Senator Risa Hontiveros said Wednesday she is "seriously" considering running for a higher office in the 2028 national and local elections (NLE).

"Tulad ng iba, seriously kino-consider ko yan at seryosong pinaghahandaan din na magkaroon ng isang pinakamalakas na kandidato mula sa hanay namin para maibigay ng best offer sa mga botante," Hontiveros told dzBB Super Radyo.

(Like others, I am seriously considering and preparing to field the strongest candidate from the opposition.)

While she is open tor seeking a higher post, Hontiveros reiterated she is willing to give way to the candidate that will be decided by the opposition.

"Kung sino man ang pinakamalakas, 'yun ang pipiliin at magkakaisa kami sa kanya. Ako man o iba," said Hontiveros.

(Whoever the strongest will be chosen. We will rally behind that candidate, whoever that is.)

In February, Hontiveros said the opposition is expected to announce its presidential candidate for the 2028 national elections by the end of the year or early 2027.
