The Supreme Court of the Philippines is set to administer the 2026 Shari’ah Special Bar Examinations (SSBE) on May 24 and May 27 across four local testing centers nationwide.

The examinations will be held at designated testing centers in Quezon City, Davao City, Iligan City, and Zamboanga City, according to the high court.

In Quezon City, New Era University was designated as the national headquarters for the examinations.

The Shari’ah Special Bar Examinations are conducted for aspiring lawyers seeking admission to the Shari’ah Bar and qualification to practice before Shari’ah courts in the Philippines.

Traffic advisory

Ahead of the examinations, the Quezon City government issued a traffic and public safety advisory for areas surrounding the testing venue.

While no road closures or rerouting schemes will be implemented, authorities warned motorists to expect heavier traffic along Central Avenue from 4:00 a.m. to 7:15 a.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Residents and establishments near the venue were also urged to avoid disruptive activities such as mass gatherings, parades, salubong events, parties, concerts, and videoke sessions to help maintain a quiet testing environment.

The local government likewise prohibited drinking alcohol, smoking, vaping, unauthorized drone operations, and the carrying of firearms near the testing site during the examination period.

Authorities called on the public to cooperate in ensuring the orderly and secure conduct of the two-day examinations. —VAL, GMA News
