Marcos visits wake of Air Force personnel killed in aircraft crash
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Sunday visited the wake of the two Philippine Air Force (PAF) personnel who were killed in a crash in Tuba, Benguet on May 20.
Marcos went to the Villamor Airbase in Pasay City to extend his condolences to the families of First Lt. Ruth Angelique Pasos and Second Lt. Cherky Enlawan Embudo, the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) said.
The President also posthumously conferred them the Silver Wing Medal in recognition of their service and dedication.
“Hindi malilimutan ang kanilang serbisyo at sakripisyo para sa sambayanang Pilipino,” the PCO said.
(Their service and sacrifices for the Filipino people will not be forgotten.)
Pasos and Embudo were onboard an SF-260 trainer aircraft when it was reported to have crashed at around 10:30 a.m. of May 20 during a navigation training flight.
The PAF assured assistance to the families and stated that an investigation will be launched.
