UP Diliman grad tops May 2026 CPA licensure examination

A graduate of the University of the Philippines-Diliman achieved the highest score in the licensure examination for certified public accountants (CPA) given last month.

According to the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), 3,004 out of 9,745 test takers passed the exam, given by the Board of Accountancy in Metro Manila, Baguio, Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Koronadal, Legazpi, Lucena, Pagadian, Pampanga, Rosales, Tacloban, Tuguegarao and
Zamboanga in May.

UP Diliman's James Al Alcayde Serono was the top scorer with a 91.17% rating. UP Diliman is also the top performing school with 50 or more examinees, with 53 of its 54 test takers passing.

"The results of examination with respect to eight (8) examinees were withheld pending final determination of their liabilities under the rules and regulations governing licensure examinations," the PRC added.
