Curlee Discaya to file bail petition after arrest
The camp of contractor Pacifico “Curlee” Discaya II will file a bail petition following his arrest for malversation through falsification of public documents, according to a report on Unang Balita on Tuesday.
Discaya’s camp said that he was only dragged into the issue.
They said they will prove Discaya is not a beneficial owner of the St. Timothy Construction Corporation, the company behind an alleged anomalous flood control project in Calumpit.
Discaya was arrested at the Senate where he was being detained after being cited in contempt in September 2025.
He was then brought to the Bulacan Provincial Jail.
Meanwhile, lawyer Cornelio Samaniego III, Discaya’s legal counsel, said he was ready to name 150 individuals allegedly involved in the flood control scheme.
“Habang almost nine months na siya sa Senate detention facility, isa-isa nare-recall niya lahat kung sino ‘yung mga ‘yun,” Samaniego said.
(While he has been in the Senate detention Facility for almost nine months, he has been recalling one by one who those people were.)
“Antayin na lang natin kasi sabi niya papangalanan daw niya,” he added.
(Let us wait for it because he said he will name them.) —VAL, GMA News
