Chavit Singson arrested, posts bail over cyber libel charges

Businessman and former Ilocos Sur Governor Chavit Singson was arrested Thursday over cyber libel charges, the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) said.

Singson was arrested in his residence at Barangay Ugong Norte, Quezon City, for violation of the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012, issued by Branch 21, Regional Trial Court (RTC), Vigan City.

However, Singson posted a cash bond amounting to P60,000 and was released from the custody of QCPD Police Station 12. — VDV, GMA News
