DMW offers over 4,000 job opportunities at Independence Day fair

Over 4,000 job vacancies were offered to Filipinos at the job fair of the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) at Robinsons Galleria in Ortigas, Quezon City on Friday.

The job fair was organized to celebrate the 128th Philippine Independence Day, according to DMW.

The initiative was open to both first-time job seekers abroad and overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) affected and repatriated due to the ongoing tensions in the Middle East.

Job seekers were assisted by 13 licensed recruitment agencies, including land-based and manning agencies.

According to DMW, among the countries with available job openings are:

  • United States
  • Canada
  • Guam
  • Australia
  • New Zealand
  • Japan
  • Croatia
  • Hungary
  • Lithuania
  • Latvia
  • Poland
  • Czech Republic
  • Bulgaria
  • Taiwan
  • Brunei
  • Madagascar
  • Vanuatu
  • Papua New Guinea
  • Various positions onboard international vessels

Simultaneously, job fairs were also held at SM City Sucat in Parañaque, SM San Lazaro in Manila, and SM City East Ortigas in Pasig.

Meanwhile, a total of 1,700 applicants were expected at the job fair at Double Dragon Plaza in Pasay, including 450 TUPAD beneficiaries.

The DMW encourages Filipino job seekers to take advantage of job fairs to find safe and legal overseas employment through licensed and registered recruitment agencies. —AOL, GMA News
