Arnold Clavio calls cash delivery allegations 'lies'
Journalist Arnold Clavio has denied allegations that he received a paper bag of money sent on the orders of former congressman Zaldy Co.
In a press conference by the former bodyguards of Zaldy Co, one of them, Mario Ceniza, Jr., alleged that Clavio was among the media personalities who received cash.
Clavio called the accusation a lie, adding that it was both ridiculous and deeply lamentable.
“Lies. Nakakatawa. Nakakalungkot. Pero lahat ng ito haharapin ko nang walang takot. Talk is cheap. Bago ang dada, ebidensya muna,” Clavio said in a statement.
(Lies. It’s ridiculous and saddening. But I will face all of these accusations without fear. Talk is cheap. Before you talk big, show the evidence first.)
Clavio maintained that he has nothing to hide and is not afraid, challenging the accuser to meet him in court and repeat his, what he called, baseless allegations.
GMA Network released a statement addressing Ceniza’s allegations against Clavio.
According to the network, it takes matters concerning the integrity of its journalists seriously and will thoroughly investigate the issue.
GMA Network maintained its commitment to responsible journalism and advised the public to refrain from drawing quick conclusions based on unverified information. –Lyjah Tiffany Bonzo/NB, GMA News
