SWS: Marcos admin net satisfaction rating drops to record-low -13 in March 2026

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. administration's net satisfaction rating fell to a record-low “poor” -13 in March 2026, according to the latest survey conducted by Social Weather Stations (SWS).

The Social Weather Survey of March 24-31, 2026, found 32% of adult Filipinos satisfied, 21% neither satisfied nor dissatisfied, and 46% dissatisfied with the general performance of the current administration.

This results in a net satisfaction rating of -13 (% satisfied minus % dissatisfied, correctly rounded), classified by SWS as "poor."

According to SWS, the latest figure showed a 27-point decline from moderate +14 in November 2025, following a recovery from neutral -3 in September 2025.

"This is a record-low for the Marcos, Jr. administration, and the lowest in 16 years since the bad -45 in March 2010 under the Arroyo administration," SWS added.

Survey background

The survey was conducted using face-to-face interviews of 1,500 adults (18 years old and above) nationwide: 600 in Balance Luzon (or Luzon outside Metro Manila), and 300 each in Metro Manila, the Visayas, and Mindanao.

The sampling error margins are ±3% for national percentages, ±4% for Balance Luzon, and ±6% each for Metro Manila, the Visayas, and Mindanao.

The area estimates were weighted by the Philippine Statistics Authority medium-population projections for 2026 to obtain the national estimates.

The survey was non-commissioned.

Governance Report Card

Out of the 19 specific performance subjects of the survey, the net satisfaction ratings of the National Administration were ‘very good’ on one subject, ‘good’ on five, ‘moderate’ on six, ‘neutral’ on four, and ‘poor’ on three.

As of March 2026, this is the “Governance Report Card” of the Marcos administration:

Very good

  • Improving the quality of children’s education (+52)

Good

  • Helping the poor (+45)
  • Implementing housing programs for the poor (+45)
  • Creating policies which will generate job opportunities (+42)
  • Developing science and technology (+40)
  • Ensuring food security (+32)

Moderate

  • Defending Philippine sovereignty in the West Philippine Sea (+27)
  • Providing information needed by the citizens to evaluate the projects of government departments and agencies (+26)
  • Telling the truth to people (+24)
  • Ensuring an efficient public transportation system (+24)
  • Taking care of Filipinos in Middle East danger zones (+21)
  • Ensuring that no family will ever be hungry and have nothing to eat (+12)

Neutral

  • Prosecuting tax evaders (net zero)
  • Collecting taxes (-4)
  • Generating solutions for the rising oil prices (-5)
  • Fighting crimes that victimize ordinary citizens, like killings, holdups, robberies, physical violence, etc. (-7)

Poor

  • Eradicating graft and corruption in government (-10)
  • Ensuring that oil companies do not take advantage of oil prices (-12)
  • Fighting inflation (-15)

SWS noted that public satisfaction rose in three subjects—implementing housing programs for the poor, prosecuting tax evaders, and eradicating graft and corruption in government.

By area, education levels

The national administration’s net satisfaction fell in all areas, but it was highest in Balance Luzon at neutral net zero, followed by Metro Manila at -23, the Visayas at -23, and Mindanao at -27.

Likewise, Marcos administration’s net satisfaction slumped in both rural and urban areas, among both men and women, in all age groups, and across educational levels.

Compared to November 2025, the administration’s net satisfaction rate dropped by 27 points in both rural and urban areas— from moderate 27 points to neutral -8 points in rural areas, and from neutral +9 to poor -18 in urban areas.

Meanwhile, it decreased by 35 points among women from +20 to -15, and among men by 20 points from +8 to -12.

SWS also said that the national administration’s net satisfaction fell from moderate to poor among 18 to 24-year-olds by 35 points from +18 to -17, and among 25 to 34-year-olds by 30 points from +12 to -18.

Among educational levels, the dip is biggest among college graduates—from neutral to bad, the net satisfaction rating went down by 40 points from +5 to -35. —LDF, GMA News
