Who is Jay Tolosa, new House prosecutors spokesperson?

The House prosecution panel on Monday named lawyer Benjamin “Jay” Tolosa Jr. as its new legal spokesperson for the impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte.

Tolosa will also serve as one of the private prosecutors in the impeachment proceedings.

“As a trial lawyer, I found it to be a meaningful opportunity to place my experience in the service of the process,” Tolosa said in a press briefing.

Who is Jay Tolosa?

Tolosa is a founding and managing partner of Tolosa Lim & Chua Law Firm, a firm specializing in litigation, banking law and corporate law. He also heads the firm’s litigation and dispute resolution practice.

He previously served as a legal consultant for the Bureau of Immigration and as counsel for Philip Morris Fortune Tobacco Corp. (PMFTC) Inc., an affiliate of Philip Morris International.

Tolosa earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Legal Management from University of Santo Tomas in 2003 and completed his law degree at the same university in 2008.—MCG, GMA News
