Lawyer of 18 ex-bodyguards: Let Kiko Pangilinan, Sharon Cuneta file raps
The lawyer of the 18 alleged former bagmen of former lawmaker Zaldy Co on Monday said that Senator Kiko Pangilinan and his wife, megastar Sharon Cuneta, may file a complaint against them after a photo of the couple was included in their presentation.
“Kung sa tingin ni Senator Kiko and si Ms. Sharon they were insulted or maligned by the presentation of their pictures, so be it ano, mag-file sila ng kaso,” lawyer Levito Baligod said in an ambush interview.
(If Senator Kiko and Ms. Sharon believe they were insulted or maligned by the presentation of their pictures, then so be it; they can file a case.)
This came after a picture showing Pangilinan and Cuneta with Co’s supposed employees was shown during a press conference of the 18 individuals.
Baligod said the photo was included by the “staff” who prepared the presentation, but he declined to name them.
“Wag na ako mag-ascribe kung sino nagkamali doon,” he said.
(Let me not ascribe blame as to who made the mistake there.)
However, Baligod refused to categorically confirm or deny whether there were deliveries to the couple.
“I cannot answer that for now,” he said.
Baligod said his refusal to answer is not misleading. He said they will answer the complaint should Pangilinan and Cuneta file one.
The lawyer and the 18 individuals were at the Department of Justice to attend the preliminary hearing on the cyberlibel complaints filed against them.
Baligod said the complaints have been submitted for resolution.
“Ito na ‘yung last day ng preliminary investigation. Pagkatapos nito ay dedesisyonan na ng panel of prosecutors ‘yung complaints laban sa amin,” he said.
Cuneta previously branded those who presented the photograph as liars. —LDF, GMA News
