Mercury Drug now accepts DSWD guarantee letters at 262 branches
Beneficiaries of the Department of Social Welfare and Development's (DSWD) Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program can once again use their Guarantee Letters (GLs) at 262 participating Mercury Drug branches nationwide beginning June 22, 2026.
The renewed partnership between the DSWD and Mercury Drug is expected to provide beneficiaries with easier access to medicines and other essential medical supplies, while facilitating the faster and more convenient utilization of assistance under the AICS program.
According to DSWD spokesperson Assistant Secretary Irene Dumlao, the resumption of GL acceptance in Mercury Drug outlets is part of the agency's ongoing efforts to strengthen the implementation of AICS and enhance the delivery of medical assistance to Filipinos facing crisis situations.
(This is good news for our fellow Filipinos who need immediate medical assistance. Starting June 22, 262 selected Mercury Drug branches will once again accept Guarantee Letters issued under the DSWD’s Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program. This will make it easier for our beneficiaries to purchase the medicines and other medical supplies they need.)
Dumlao said the initiative is in line with the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to make government assistance more accessible and responsive to the immediate needs of Filipinos.
(The DSWD continues to seek ways to expand and bring assistance closer to our beneficiaries. Through this partnership, we will be able to help more Filipinos during times of need.)
Before this renewed partnership, the DSWD said it has also forged a similar arrangement with Generika Drugstore to give beneficiaries wider access to medicines.
