OVP touts 'efficient' use of 92% of its P913-M budget for 2025
The Office of the Vice President (OVP) on Monday said it obligated 92.32% of its P913.243-million allocation under its current and continuing appropriations for 2025, citing what it described as strong fiscal management and the supposed efficient use of public funds.
In its 2025 Annual Report, the OVP said the obligated funds were used to support priority programs and services delivered to communities nationwide, including geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas.
The office also reported an 81% disbursement rate, which it said reflected the timely conversion of budget obligations into actual payments and the effective implementation of its programs and projects.
The OVP said its budget performance complements the “very satisfactory” rating it received in the Department of Budget and Management’s (DBM) 2024 Annual Performance Review, which assessed the office’s fiscal discipline, budget execution, and absorptive capacity at over 90%.
According to the report, the office’s financial performance was driven by structured financial planning, prudent fiscal management, and compliance with established financial controls.
“The continued commitment to responsible budget utilization underscores its mission of delivering responsive, accessible, and accountable public service to Filipinos nationwide,” the OVP said. — MCG, GMA News
