UP Open University offers 25 free online courses from July to December 2026

The University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) has released its July to December 2026 Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) calendar, opening 25 free self-paced courses through its UPOU MODeL platform.

In an online post, UPOU said the course lineup includes six new offerings, including topics on language of business, academic writing in Filipino, research ethics, parental support, and children and home support.

The online courses are open to all, can be taken at your own pace, and allow you to earn a 16-hour e-certificate upon completion.

Here is the full course schedule from July to December:

July

  • Strategic Planning in Open Distance eLearning (ODeL)
  • Technology in Open Distance eLearning (ODeL)
  • Climate Information Services
  • Internalizing Behaviors among Children and Practical Home Support
  • Social Entrepreneurship
  • Fundamentals of Marketing
  • Understanding the Language of Business: Accounting Overview & Basic Financial Statements (New)
  • Introduction to Permaculture: The Ethics of Permaculture and Design Principles

August

  • AI Essentials: Theory and Practice
  • Batayang Kasanayan sa Akademikong Pagsulat sa Filipino (New)
  • Panimulang Kasanayan sa Gramatikang Filipino (New)
  • Gaining Parental Acceptance and Support (New)

September

  • Quality Assurance in Open Distance eLearning (ODeL)
  • Externalizing Disorders among Children and Practical Home Support (New)

October

  • Research Ethics: Fundamental Concepts and Review Process (New)
  • Learner Support in Open Distance eLearning (ODeL)
  • Blended Teaching and Learning Using OERs
  • Implementing and Evaluating Programs for Child Rights
  • Overview of Policies and Strategies for Climate and Disaster Resilience
  • Resilience Strategies Across the Four Pillars
  • Risk Analysis for Project Management

November

The UPOU noted that the MOOC offering dates may change without prior notice.

Interested learners can sign up on the UPOU MODeL platform and self-enroll in courses once enrollment opens.
