The Sandiganbayan Second Division has upheld its denial in June of Sen. Jinggoy Estrada's motion to dismiss the graft case against him in connection with alleged kickbacks from the government’s flood control projects, citing lack of merit.

In a six-page resolution, the anti-graft court said Estrada's motion for reconsideration merely repeated arguments that have already been considered and rejected.

"No substantial matter has been presented which would warrant the modification, much less the reversal, of the Court's findings in its order dated 4 June 2026," the court said.

All three justices signed the resolution: Presiding Justice Geraldine Faith Econg and Associate Justices Edgardo Caldona and Gener M. Gito.

Estrada is facing a graft case before the Second Division over alleged P213.7 million in kickbacks from government flood control projects.

The Sandiganbayan Fifth Division is hearing the P573 million plunder charge and a separate graft charge also related to the flood control mess. —NB, GMA News
