Alan and Lino Cayetano to be invited to Blue Ribbon flood control probe
Senator Alan Peter Cayetano and his younger brother PTV-4 General Manager Lino Cayetano will be invited to the Senate Blue Ribbon committee's flood control hearings in connection with alleged "ghost" flood control projects in Taguig City.
According to Jonathan Andal's report on 24 Oras Weekend, Blue Ribbon Committee chairperson Senator Erwin Tulfo said that Lino—who was Taguig mayor from 2019 to 2022—had sought an investigation into flood control projects in the city from 2022 to 2025 worth a total of P6 billion.
"Siguro dapat mag-ready siya doon na kapatid niya mismo ang humihingi ng imbestigasyon dahil may nakita yata 'yung kanyang kapatid," he added, referring to the elder Cayetano.
(He should probably get ready for it because his own brother is asking for an investigation.)
Alan Peter has denied that there are ghost flood control projects in Taguig. He has also struck out at Tulfo and another critic, Senator Panfilo "Ping" Lacson, questioning their own sources of wealth.
The Blue Ribbon panel's probe into the flood control controversy will resume after the President's State of the Nation Address (SONA) on July 27. — BM, GMA News
