PCSO Chorale to perform national anthem at Marcos' fifth SONA
The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) Chorale will perform the Philippine national anthem during President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s fifth State of the Nation Address (SONA) on July 27, Malacañang said Tuesday.
At a Palace press briefing, Press Officer Undersecretary Claire Castro said the program will be directed by Radio Television Malacañang (RTVM).
Castro on Monday said this year's SONA will be “simple but dignified” and will not feature celebrity directors or A-list personalities from the entertainment industry.
“Simple but dignified,” Castro said.
Last year’s SONA featured singer Sofronio Vasquez performing the national anthem before President Marcos delivered his speech. Earlier this year, the group won the Grand Prix title at the Korea International Choir Competition 2026.
President Marcos is scheduled to deliver his fifth SONA before a joint session of Congress at the Batasang Pambansa on July 27.
Castro earlier said preparations are underway for the SONA.
“Simpleng okasyon. Ang gagawin lang natin sa gagawing SONA ay simple lamang po at wala pong celebrity directors or mga big A-listers na magpe-perform,” Castro said.
